I think the beauty of creative practices is that they naturally lend themselves to change and innovation. After all, it’s hard to be creative when other parts of your life are stagnated. Some things I’ve been trying lately include–

  1. Ellipsus. I mentioned this yesterday, and it really is a great software. Being internet-based isn’t the best, but overall, I greatly prefer it to Google docs.
  2. You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero, specifically the audiobook version. I don’t usually like audiobooks for fiction, but it turns out it works really well for self-help. Am I a bit embarrassed to admit I’m reading this? A little. But I do think it’s helping my relationship to money, so I wanted to mention it.
  3. The 100 Push-Ups Challenge. I’ve done this before and fizzled out around week 3, and thought I’d pick it up again. I really can’t make myself do it though, for whatever reason. So…

I’m ditching the push-ups. It’s just not working! I’m going to try to do a bit of yoga every day instead, even if it’s just bedtime yoga.

Is there anything new you’ve been trying lately that just isn’t working? Consider ditching it! Find something that works for you.

Love and gratitude.

I am trying to post something every day reflecting on creativity, what’s inspiring me now and what’s inspired me in the past, what I’m working on. Think of this is a public writing journal, made public only in an attempt to make myself more accountable.
