Today, I read a short story from a collection I bought called Afterglow: Climate Fiction for Future Ancestors. It was an afrofuturist one, and the idea of it was that a community had innovated to survive a climate change, but was unwilling to innovate to adapt for new climate change. I like this one because it so accurately reflects human nature.

I love sci-fi type things, but I’ve never tried to write one. It’s in the back of my head though. So far, my writing is all inclined towards speculative fiction, but more in a ‘magical’ way. I’ve tried to commit to sci-fi before but it hasn’t landed. I’m hoping I’ll crack it someday.
